Our Story

Cool town. But where can a guy or gal get a beer around here?

Here is the original GBC crew.  It was a partnership devoted to bringing quality beer to Gloucester County.  There was (l to r) the Silent Partner (Liz Ware) providing unwavering support in the background, the Voice of Reason (Laura Brewer) providing a continuous check of sanity to the group, The Wild Card (Mike Brewer) the dreamer always coming up with something different to try, and The Brains (Myron Ware) the developer of the award winning, original batch of core recipes that GBC produced. Management roles may have shifted recently, but the work and dedication and support of both Myron and Liz in getting this endeavor going will always be appreciated.  A special thanks goes to Myron and Liz for helping get this adventure started.  But don’t worry, you will still run into them at the brewery as they continue to support GBC…..and they still like beer.

Bub. If your last name is Brewer, and you aren’t making beer, is your compass broke? The GBC OG Mike Brewer has always been a big fan of beer. And when he wanted to open a brewery and was told “you don’t know how to brew beer”, Mike reached out to a good friend and long-time home brewer, Myron Ware, to teach him all about brewing. After brewing in Mike’s garage for almost two years to nail down recipes, the rest is history as they say.

Our goal was always Main Street in Gloucester County. Bringing people together is what we’re all about and here at GBC you can always count on three things: a friendly environment, outstanding service and of course, quality beers. We’re honored to serve Gloucester and support our fellow local establishments!

Your friendly neighborhood brewery has been serving up locally-brewed craft beer since 2018. Gloucester’s first! The GBC staples: Low Ground Brown Ale, Hills Bay IPA, John Beere Cream Ale, and medal-winning DeadRYEz Rye Ale and Rosewell Irish Red were developed and perfected in Mike’s garage before bringing them to you. They can be found on tap most any time as well as other popular styles.
